“Transcendence Gate” – Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico – July 2023

Story :I took this shot during my one year trip to Mexico, on a beautiful beach of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Countless pieces of marvelous driftwood and trunks were on the shore. I saw a massive trunk amongst the rocks and immediatly felt attracted to these mystical patterns. As I got closer, crawling and crabbing on the wet rocks, dodging rough waves, I could progressivly distinguish those patterns. They felt like an outer-world handwriting. I could also feel the beautiful Ocean’s energy this trunk was holding in its cells. When I came back home, I decided to apply the symmetry to the shot. I was immediatly astounded by what my eyes were seeing. The title of the artwork describes it perfectly and came to me at this exact moment like an evidence. A portal to another dimension. Many friends saw in this artwork the representation of a vulva, the gate to this physical world. A beautiful reminder that we’re only passing by in this beautiful realm of matter.
