Title : Slowly We Fade

(July 2023)

Description : I took this picture during my one year trip to Mexico, between 2022 and 2023. At that time, I was on my friend’s homestead, in the tropical forest above Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. His land is a fantastic natural sanctuary full of marvels of all kingdoms. It was at the same time obviously one of my favorite playground to experiment natural photography. The Spirits of this place were gentle and showed themselves many times in my artworks. Everyday the forest was offering us marvelous gifts, like these partially decomposed leaves. It felt like seeing the leave’s skeleton and I was amazed by the quantity of details my eyes could see. There is beauty in everything, even in death. These leaves remind me that we’re all inevitably and slowly fading, but we’ll always be in the beauty of the present moment.
