“Gazing Wood” – San Marcos la Laguna, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala – March 2024

Story : I took this shot during my 6 months trip to Guatemala, at the powerful and marvelous Atitlan Lake, in San Marcos la Laguna’s natural reserve. I was walking by the edge of the cliff on a beautiful path surrounded by amazing local plants and flowers. This variety of colours and shapes pleased my eyes and Soul. I found a beautiful spot further and sat down quietly, savoring all these amazing gifts the Earth was offering me. I noticed an old stump, the remnant of a wooden brother and came closer to explore its fantastic patterns. The story I red on those lines was incredibly rich and profound. I could feel its eternal Spirit interacting with me and felt the urge to take a few shots. What came out of the symmetry edit was purely astonishing and certainly one my favourite artwork. Wisdom is all around us if we take the Time to contemplate it.
