“Emerald Being” – Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico – December 2024

Story : I took this shot during my second trip to Mexico between 2024 and 2025. I went back to my friend’s homestead near Puerto Escondido in the State of Oaxaca. This place is a marvelous Sanctuary of Nature where I love to come and help him work on the land, offering my energy, sweat and blood to the Earth. A beautiful river runs through the land, with countless falls. This is where many of my artworks were created. The beauty of this healing place is beyond measures and is deeply inspiring and nourishing. On a beautiful afternoon, I decided to walk to the waterfalls where we usually go for a delighting bath. From there, I walked downstream along the river, hunting for intersting shots. This hike was fantastic, the sunrays were penetrating the canopee and highlighted the colorful rocks with their divine light. I then went back to my campsite to create some artworks and I was really mesmerized by the results. I took several shots of the exact same place where the rocks have intense gold and emerald, almost blue color. They hold deep strentgh and power, a balance between light and darkness.
